The Center for Pedagogical Training and Academic Development at the University of Zakho carried out the final project activities of Course (R12).

On Thursday, December 4, 2025, under the supervision and guidance of the Director of the Center for Pedagogical Training and Academic Development, Ms. Shiler Mustafa Mohammed, and the supervisor of the Training Unit, Ms. Vian Salim Haji, and with the presence of Dr. Sattar Jabbar Haji, the academic staff of the center and representatives of the College of Education, an activity was organized for presenting commercial project proposals by the participants of the 12th Pedagogical Course (Rawand).

 

It is worth mentioning that these projects were developed based on the ideas, creativity, and confidence of the participants, showcasing several innovative and meaningful concepts. This type of activity strengthens the relationship between university staff, the center, and the community.

For this purpose, the following distinguished guests were invited:

Mr. Lateef Othman Ismail, Head of the Zakho Chamber of Commerce.

Dr. Kawah Abdulaziz Abdulaziz, President of the Kurdistan Economists Syndicate and Representative of the Rand Technical Institute.

Dr. Walaa Ghazi Mahmood, Director of the Center for Pedagogical Training and Academic Development at Salahaddin University–Erbil.

Prof. Dr. Shvan Ahmed Mohammed, Owner of a company specializing in labor consultancy, staff training, and limited-impact economic feasibility studies.

Dr. Akram Salih Yousif, Head of the Economics Department at Nawroz University and an economist.

Mr. Maher Nader Besri, Entrepreneur and President of the Trustees’ Council at the Rand Institutes.

Mr. Mahdi Salih Yaqoob, Head of Training and Educational Development at the General Directorate of Education in Zakho.

Dr. Kovan Tamer Ghazi, Economist and lecturer in the Economics Department at the University of Zakho.

Mr. Qasim Kamal Abdulkarim, Economist and lecturer in the Economics Department at Nawroz University.

Mr. Ali Baran Nader, Lecturer at the Rand Technical Institute.

It was noted that the role of the Counseling Center in this activity was to academically evaluate these ideas, refine and develop them from the center’s perspective, and subsequently assist participants in presenting their project proposals to the Chamber of Commerce to receive professional guidance and support.

This type of activity is of great importance for the center, the participants, the university, and society at large.

Science becomes practical and applicable; participants can use their ideas and abilities and build confidence in themselves. Such activities create a strong and direct link between participants and the labor market, positioning the university as a hub for innovation and collaboration. Additionally, for society, these activities generate new solutions and contribute to sustainable development.

In summary, these activities empower participants, enhance the university’s leadership role, and create a more dynamic and active community.
